In this way, the zither gained ground around the world, although it is not very known. Even if it's played more frequently in the south of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, it's been used for playing various musical styles, in Europe and all over the world. In Brazil and other American countries, brought by the immigrants in the 19th and 20th centuries, the zither has undergone some decline, perhaps due to misinformation, one could say. The aim of this site is to divulge and preserve the beauty of this notable instrument, helping to grow the general awareness of it.
